Psychotherapy in Lisbon & online psychotherapy
We invite you to think about psychotherapy as a way of searching for new perspectives – new ways of being, relating, feeling, and experiencing life. Our upbringing equipped us with a certain point of view on who we are, how we love and feel, and even what we want and aspire to. Many of those experiences gave us clarity in later life but some still cast a shadow on who we truly are.
Is psychotherapy for me?
You are here to find the help you deserve. You might have needed it for a long time or something overwhelming might have recently happened to you. We are here to help you. You might be feeling a variety of symptoms that lead us to search for help in psychotherapy: self-criticism, irritability, outbursts of anger, loss of meaning, sense of being confused or lost, anxiety, depression or feeling lifeless, feeling stuck, bodily symptoms (psychosomatic pains, tensions), relational failures. We will focus on the source of your symptoms – blocked emotions, thoughts, relational patterns (attachment style), and anxiety regulation.
Piotr Szmyt
My name is Piotr Szmyt. I am a psychotherapist and I can accompany you on your path to a better quality of your life. My approach in psychotherapy combines a psychodynamic perspective with a more body-focused intense short dynamic therapy (ISTDP). In therapy, I value both empathy and directness. Sometimes what helps in the therapeutic process are warmth and acceptance and other times confrontation and clear perspective. You can get to know my approach to the therapeutic relationship in the first consultation session.
Sylwia Latacz
My name is Sylwia Latacz, I am a psychologist and psychotherapist. I have been living in Portugal for 8 years. I provide individual sessions and couples psychotherapy. I support people in overcoming difficulties and finding a sense of authenticity and solutions in seemingly hopeless situations. I work primarily with expats who are looking for support from someone who knows the specifics of the experience of living abroad. For me, psychotherapy is not only a method of coping with difficulties, but above all, it is a method of experiencing one’s life more deeply. Psychotherapy can be a path to a deeper acceptance of oneself and others. I invite you to take this journey together.
Psychotherapy is a method of becoming what one is, since it does nothing else but attempt to return to a human being what pertains to him, what during his life-road, in the interplay of internal conflicts and external events, he has lost or been unable to develop.
